Emergency FAQs

Where is Viking Veterinary Hospital located?

Viking Veterinary Hospital in Idaho Falls is located at 3151 McNeil Dr, Idaho Falls, ID 83402.

What are your payment options?

We accept cash, credit cards, and Carecredit.

How much is an ER visit?
Emergency visits start with a doctor exam of $135, with costs increasing based on reason for presentation. Once we have assessed the patient, our team can show you estimates for all costs, such as diagnostics or hospitalization.
Do we offer routine care?

We are strictly emergent/urgent care so we do not offer services such as vaccines, routine deworming, heartworm preventative, dental cleaning or dental extractions. We encourage you to reach out to one of the local general practitioners for routine/preventative care.

My pet is suffering, do you provide euthanasia services?

Yes, of course. We know how difficult the euthanasia process is for you and your family and we are here night and day to help you when it comes to this difficult situation. We encourage you to reach out for the cost of these services.

How long does it take ashes to be returned?

If you choose to have the ashes returned to you, it takes up to 3-4 weeks for these to return back to the clinic. At that time we will call to alert you to the return, at which time you may come at any time to pick them up.

Do you offer specialty surgeries?

We have a fully equipped surgical suite with the capability to handle a myriad of emergency surgical procedures. We do have an orthopedic surgeon that works with us periodically for scheduled non-emergent orthopedic surgeries, call for more information about this service.

What are your hours?

We are open 24/7/365

Do you need to make an appointment before coming in?

No, we are a take walk-ins based on a first come first serve basis dependent on severity of the pet’s condition. We do appreciate a call so that we can be prepared for your arrival.

Do you see exotic animals?

While most of our patients are either cats or dogs, some of our doctors will see a limited range of exotic animals on a case by case basis. We recommend calling to see if the doctor currently on staff feels comfortable seeing your exotic animal before coming in.

What kind of aftercare do you offer?

We partner with Forget-Me-Not Cremation services and offer two options for cremation whether you would prefer to have the ashes returned or not. We, also, offer remembrance items such as clay paw prints, ink paw prints, and hair clippings. Please call for the cost of these services.

What kind of payment plans do you offer?

We do not offer payment plans, all payments are due at time of service. However, we do accept Care Credit, Scratch Pay, Trupanion direct pay and all major credit cards.

Do you offer C-Sections?

Yes, we do offer emergent C-Section surgeries and our technical staff is trained on neonatal resuscitation, as well. We cannot, however, schedule these in advance.
